Who am I?
Francis Christie
I am a professional coach and mentor… and I run my own business. I also have experience as a company director. I have held leading roles, as a Vice-President and a Director, in developing 7 companies over a 15 year period. These ranged from complete start-ups to a stock-market listed internet services company. I have also contributed at a senior level to corporate mergers and multinational joint ventures. I have a lot of experience of managing change!
I also worked as a management consultant advising on corporate development and restructuring. I developed coaching and mentoring services because, when a company is re-organised, there is a need to support the new management team or senior people in transition to a new role.
I developed an interest in coaching in 1998 when I was asked to lead the Global Account Management Team in the UK for AT&T, the international telecommunications corporation. This was a team of highly experienced account directors managing relationships with some of AT&T’s largest customers in Europe. They were good at their jobs… but I felt they were isolated and working at less than their full potential. They did not need more training. What they found useful was to learn to work as a team and for me to offer inspiration and leadership. In this situation, the most useful management style for me, as a team leader, was a coaching style.

I have a Distinction in The Advanced Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring (ACC&M). This course was developed by The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and the Oxford School of Coaching and Mentoring (OSC&M) and it has equipped me to coach-mentor executives at senior management and board level.
I am accreditted by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) at the Advanced Practitioner level for work with the board, chief executives and managing directors. I am a member of both the EMCC and the International Coach Federation (ICF). I use their standards and code of ethics to guide my work with clients.
