Executive Mentoring
“Mentors are people who, through their action and work, help others to achieve their potential”
(G. Shea, 1992).
I like simple definitions!
Mentoring is available in many ways and you may need a mentor at different stages of your life. Think about what would be the most useful next transition for you – whether in behaviour, knowledge, relationships or career. Then, give me a call and we can discuss what would work for you and where you might find a suitable mentor.
Choose someone who has the knowledge, experience and credibility to add value to you in your role. This could be by acting as a sounding board, a challenging friend or an advisor and guide.
Executive Mentoring
“Behind every successful person, there is one elementary truth: somewhere, somehow, someone cared about their growth and development. This person was their mentor.”
B Kaye.
Would executive mentoring help you to discuss your job, your people, your plans or your professional development with an experienced director? Do you need an executive mentor to work with? I am someone who has ‘been there, seen it and done it’ myself.
“Executive Mentoring is a process for the informal transmission of knowledge and support relevant to work, career or professional development. Mentoring entails informal communication, between a person (the mentor), who is perceived to have greater relevant knowledge, wisdom, or experience and a person who is perceived to have less (the mentee)”.
Bozeman, B. & Feeney, M. K. (Oct. 2007)
I could be the executive mentor you need. I offer a confidential executive mentoring relationship where I can be your ‘sounding-board’ to:
- review your business plans or challenges in changing the organisation;
- discuss the difficult decisions you need to make in your role or about your team;
- manage the organisation and perceptions of others around you and above you;
- help you successfully transition from a functional role to a Board or General Management job;
- help you to build your confidence and create a successful track-record at the highest level.
You know that investing in your own potential as a business leader will have a huge payback for your organisation further down the line.
The business case is clear – why don’t you take the next step?
Why don’t you call me to see how we could work together to maximise your chances of success?
